Description: Peppe Barra is an amazing artist from Naples. He’s an actor, a singer, a director; he is an event himself, and experiencing him performing is almost cathartic. We haven’t seen this concert, but we can assure you that Barra is an artist you don’t want to miss, especially as he works on traditional material, the real tradition though, not the stereotypical one. The concert presents the contents of his new CD together with works by Roberto De Simone, Basile, Franco del Prete, Patrizio Trampetti and his own repertoire.

Descrizione: Per Peppe Barra un’altra tappa del suo incessante vagare nello spaccato sociale della sua Napoli. Ne canta, come sempre, l’amore ma anche la distruzione,  lo scempio ambientale e sociale che subisce quotidianamente. Peppe Barra restituisce a Napoli  i suoni, i colori, le voci “contaminandoli” con l’energia travolgente che lo caratterizza, affidandosi alla raffinata scrittura musicale e poetica di  autori come Roberto De Simone, Basile, Franco Del Prete, Patrizio Trampetti e a brani tratti dal suo repertorio e dal nuovo disco in uscita nel 2009, “N’attimo”. Questo spettacolo registra anche il ritorno a Roma, dopo molti anni, di Patrizio Trampetti, mitica figura del teatro di Roberto De Simone, in veste di interprete, attore e cantante, oltre che di autore. Uno spettacolo raffinato e travolgente, tra musica e teatro, dove la forza della parola gli accenti, sospesi del suo dialetto, diventano viva e palpitante materia sonora. Descrizione: Una mostra da non perdere per gli amanti dei tesori archeologici e per quelli delle mostre mozzafiato. Questi capolavori, provenienti dal Museo di Kabul, sono stati salvati grazie allo staff del Museo stesso, che per vent’anni li ha conservati nella cassaforte del palazzo presidenziale di Kabul. Grazie a loro, tesori unici e bellissimi sono ora visibili al resto del mondo. La mostra e’ alla sua ultima tappa dopo aver girato tutti gli Stati Uniti. Dunque accorrete fino a quando viene ospitata al Metropolitan. Sono sei sale di meraviglie che non potrete dimenticare.

Description: Ancient Afghanistan—at the crossroads of major trade routes and the focus of invasions by great powers and nomadic migrations—was home to some of the most complex, rich, and original civilizations on the continent of Asia. This exhibition will celebrate the unique role of Afghanistan as a center for both the reception of diverse cultural elements and the creation of original styles of art that combine multiple stylistic materials—such as the Hellenized examples from the second-century B.C. city of Aï Khanum, the array of trade goods found in the first-century city of Begram, and the astonishing nomadic gold found in the hoard at Tillya Tepe, which also dates to the first century. It will also commemorate the heroic rescue of the heritage of one of the world’s great civilizations, whose precious treasures were thought to have been destroyed. Among the highlights of the exhibition will be gold vessels from the Tepe Fullol hoard; superb works and architectural elements from Aï Khanum; Indian-style sculptural masterpieces in ivory, plaster medallions, and Roman glass from Begram; and extraordinary turquoise-encrusted gold jewelry and ornaments from the tombs at Tillya Tepe. Descrizione: Un ristorantino tranquillo, con prezzi accessibili, nel cuore del Village. Il sushi che abbiamo assaggiato noi era molto buono, anzi ottimo, ma abbiamo letto su alcuni siti che non può essere considerato sushi da intenditori. Pazienza! A noi e’ piaciuto e così gli amici a cui lo abbiamo proposto. Le porzioni sono abbondanti, senza essere turistiche. Se possibile, evitate di andarci durante il fine settimana, perché potreste trovare starnazzanti tavolate di universitari e visto che invece una delle virtù del posto e’ il facilitare la chiacchiera, e’ meglio goderne lontano dai venerdì e sabato.

Description: Nice, quiet restaurant, not too expensive, in the heart of the Village. We loved the sushi – and sashimi - we had and so did the friends we brought with us. Some reviews we read say that it’s not the top-quality sushi, but we really like it and we never heard none complaining. Best if not in the weekend, as loud students tend to go there to grab a bite.

Description: Villa Celimontana Jazz Festival is one of the most suggestive summer events in Rome. In the very Midsummer Night atmosphere of Villa Celimontana, prestigious jazz musicians share the stage, night after night, to give audience notes and stars. Since few years ago, the Festival offers several kinds of performances. The one we suggest is all about poetry. Alessandro Haber, admired stage and movie actor, will read the work of poets such as Prevert, Lorca, Bukowski among many others. Improvising at the piano, Marco Di Gennaro, often seen in the NY Jazz scene, and Luca Velotti, a collaborator of Paolo Conte for several years now.

Descrizione: Continua la fortunata collaborazione del pianista e compositore Marco di Gennaro con Alessandro Haber. Dopo il grande successo dello spettacolo “Bukowski – Confessione di un Genio” che nell’arco di tre anni ha stupito e affascinato il pubblico dei più grandi teatri d’Italia, Haber torna a cimentarsi con i poeti in quella che si preannuncia una memorabile serata al teatro di Ovadia. Haber incarnerà Prevert, Garcia Lorca, ovviamente Bukowski, e molti altri. La musica e l’improvvisazione di due musicisti d’eccezione, Marco di Gennaro al pianoforte, e Luca Velotti ai fiati, già coautori delle musiche del già citato Bukowski haberiano, accompagneranno e contrappunteranno la sanguigna voce haberiana, formando un vulcanico insieme di grande energia e impatto emotivo. Marco di Gennaro ha legato il suo nome alla produzione musicale di molti spettacoli teatrali, tra cui “Il mondo di Mr. Peters” e il recentissimo“Shakespeare in Jazz” con Giorgio Albertazzi, prodotto e trasmesso da Rai2.
