Descrizione: Il maestro dei maestri e’ in scena in uno dei teatri Off-Broadway piu’ quotati della citta’ per la qualita’ dei lavori che propone. Anche se non abbiamo sempre apprezzato le produzioni di questo teatro, The Grand Inquisitor diretto da Peter Brook e’ certamente un pezzo di teatro che non va assolutamente perso. Il testo e’ tratto dai Fratelli Karamazov di Dostoyevksy ed e’ stato adattato da Marie-Hélène Estienne. L’attore in scena e’ Bruce Myers, nella compagnia di Peter Brook da sempre.

Description: Renowned director Peter Brook (Marat/Sade, The Mahabharata) continues his long time collaboration with the renowned actor Bruce Myers (The Mahabharata, The Unbearable Lightness of Being) in Marie-Hélène Estienne’s (French version of Far Away) adaptation of the Inquisitor section of The Brothers Karamazov. “Almost an Evening” - Theaters at 45 Bleecker (Off Broadway)

Descrizione: Debutto di uno dei famosissimi fratelli Coen nel teatro. Tre storie brevi recitate da un grande cast. La prima e la terza storia sono un po’ alla Woody Allen. In Waiting, si fa un salto nell’al di la’; in Debate (la piu’ divertente) si parla di due Dei, uno che ama e l’altro che giudica. Four Benches e’ decisamente la piu’ debole. Una serata comunque piacevole e breve, testi interessanti, anche se la parte migliore sono il cast e la musica!

Description: Theatrical debut for one of the somuchfamous Coen Brothers. Three short plays and a great cast. The first and third stories echo Woody Allen’s short plays. In Waiting, we visit the after-death time; in Debate (the funniest) we meet two Gods, a loving and a judging one. Four Benches is the weakest one. An evening very entertaining and very short. Interesting plays, yet the best part is the cast and the music!

Descrizione: Lo spettacolo e’ basato sulle interviste fatte da George Packer agli interpreti iracheni che agli inizi della guerra avevano lavorato per gli americani e che per questo hanno messo in pericolo la loro vita. Un argomento difficile, trattato cercando di lasciare allo spettatore il giudizio finale. Bravi gli attori, ottima messa in scena. Il Culture Project ancora una volta fa centro.

Description: In early 2007, George Packer published an article in The New Yorker about Iraqi interpreters who jeopardized their lives on behalf of the Americans in Iraq, with little or no U.S. protection or security. The article drew national attention to the humanitarian crisis and moral scandal. Betrayed, based on Mr. Packer’s interviews in Baghdad, tells the story of three young Iraqis - two men and one woman - motivated to risk everything by America’s promise of freedom.
