Description: After its enormous initial success at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco during the summer of 2007 (135,000 visitors), and having followed a course leading through the Hôtel de Ville in Paris (75,000 visitors in the summer of 2008) and the Ekaterina Foundation in Moscow (65,000 visitors between October and December of 2008), the “Grace Kelly Years, Princess of Monaco” exposition will make its next stop in Rome. This outstanding exposition featuring Monaco’s iconic Princess will take up quarters in the Palazzo Ruspoli from October 16th 2009 to February 28th 2010. This prestigious venue in the heart of the Eternal City operates under the auspices of the Memmo Foundation. The exposition will occupy several floors, giving visitors ample opportunity to relive the years during which an exceptional woman reached myth status while living out her extraordinary destiny, that of a Hollywood actress become Princess of Monaco. This homage was conceived and organized by Frédéric Mitterand, recently named France’s Minister of Culture and Communication. It includes pictures by some of the world’s foremost photographers (Howell Conant, Cecil Beaton, Irving Penn…), Grace Kelly’s correspondence with famous figures of her time (Jackie Kennedy, la Callas, Alfred Hitchcock, Cary Grant…), numerous personal belongings, her wardrobe and jewels as well as other fashion accessories such as the famous Kelly bag designed by the Hermès firm.Motion picture clips edited by Nathalie Crinière form a major part of the exposition. They include excerpts from Grace Kelly’s most famous films as well as amateur film strips shot by the Princess herself that offer a close look at the Grimaldi family’s personal life. Descrizione: La Fondazione Memmo rende omaggio alla Principessa Grace di Monaco accogliendo la mostra presentata al Grimaldi Forum durante l’estate 2007, che ritraccia momenti ed aspetti diversi della vita di Grace Kelly. Da star hollywoodiana a Principessa monegasca, l’itinerario di una donna meravigliosa, dal destino eccezionale. La mostra, abilmente curata da Frédéric Mitterrand, dal 23 giugno 2009 Ministro della Cultura e della Comunicazione della Repubblica Francese, si propone di condurre il visitatore nel vivo dei ricordi degli «anni Grace Kelly, Principessa de Monaco». Una mostra omaggio che sfoglia un album di immagini firmate dai più grandi nomi della fotografia (Howell Conant, Cecil Beaton, Irving Penn…), una mostra che svela la corrispondenza scambiata da Grace Kelly con i suoi amici di Hollywood e con i grandi del pianeta (Jackie Kennedy, Alfred Hitchcock, la Callas, Cary Grant…), una mostra che presenta degli oggetti personali, una parte del suo guardaroba (tra cui l’abito da sposa), dei gioielli e numerosi accessori di moda, come la celebre borsa Kelly firmata Hermès. Il cinema, la sua prima vita, sarà largamente rappresentato. Montaggio di sequenze dei suoi film più importanti, largo spazio dedicato al film di Alfred Hitchcock, La finestra sul cortile, ma anche estratti di film di famiglia girati da Grace Kelly stessa e che permettono di penetrare nell’intimità della sua vita quotidiana. Attraverso una donna scomparsa troppo presto, si delinea tutta un’epoca. Un’epoca che vuole dimenticare i lutti della seconda guerra mondiale. Descrizione: La mostra presenta una ricostruzione analitica della situazione artistica italiana tra l’ultimo decennio del XIII secolo e la prima metà del XIV secolo, seguendo il tracciato degli spostamenti di Giotto nella Penisola e analizzando le sue innovative soluzioni figurative. La novità e l’originalità della mostra consistono nel fatto che per la prima volta si documenta con ampiezza inedita e con opere di altissima qualità lo snodo cruciale dell’arte trecentesca, includendo gran parte del territorio italiano e presentando una panoramica mai tentata in precedenza di tutte le declinazioni stilistiche e formali della lezione giottesca. Il nucleo originale della mostra è anche la ricostruzione dei percorsi giotteschi e della svolta impressa dalle sue opere alle tradizioni e alle scuole pittoriche dei luoghi dove egli lasciò le proprie opere; opere, in qualche caso completamente scomparse, ma idealmente ricostruibili attraverso le fonti scritte, e, soprattutto, grazie agli echi che se ne riscontrano nella pittura dei maestri locali. Description: An exhibition on the works of Giotto begins at the Vittoriano (Piazza Venezia) from 6 March. The vast collection is the first important event dedicated to the artist and symbol of the end of the Middle Ages for 70 years. The 150 priceless works gathered from all over Italy are testament to the great influence the Florentine had over his contemporaries and successors. Description: The Chiostro del Bramante is an historical beautiful location where amazing exhibition are presented. A sort of art within art. This time the focus is on one of the most famous Romans ever: Giulio Cesare. On display archeological documents coming from international and local museums together with models reproducing ancient Rome. Also on display, what the myth of Cesare produced from the Middle Age till the beginning of 1900, when the movie industry felt in love with this amazing personality.

Descrizione: Finalmente i grandi protagonisti della storia romana a Roma! Il Chiostro del Bramante inaugura una stagione nella sua ormai ben nota programmazione espositiva dedicandola, appunto, a questo tema. E ad aprirla non poteva che essere Giulio Cesare (ca. 100 – 44 a.C.), il primo “dittatore”, artefice indiscusso della grandezza del futuro impero romano di cui sarà principe, non a caso, il figlio adottivo Ottaviano, primo “Cesare Augusto”. La mostra riunisce per la prima volta documenti archeologici di grande importanza e bellezza, provenienti dai maggiori musei italiani e stranieri, insieme plastici appositamente realizzati, a ricostruire la Roma di Cesare. All’arte figurativa è affidata la documentazione del mito di Cesare e del cesarismo dall’età medievale al Rinascimento, da qui al Neoclassicismo e oltre; fino ai primissimi decenni del Novecento, quando il cinema, attraverso filmati d’epoca, costumi di scena e scenografie, racconta il mito più recente di Cesare. Description: A very ambitious project, a new way for artists to represent Rome and its surroundings: between 1792 and 1798 three German artists – Johann Christian Reinhart, Jacob Wilhelm Mechau and Christoph Albert Dies – made the 72 prints “Mahlerisch-radirte Prospecte von Italien” for the publisher and art dealer Frauenholz in Nuremberg. The series is one of the highlights of the graphic art production in Goethe’s age and represents an alternative to urban views. For the first time in a series of etchings, landscape becomes more important than urban depiction. The Casa di Goethe has acquired the entire series for its collection. Descrizione: Nella splendida cornice del centro di Roma, a Via del Corso, la Casa di Goethe ospiterà dal 19 marzo fino al 21 giugno 2009, la mostra di un importante pittore tedesco che ha vissuto ed amato l’Italia: Johann Martin von Rohden 1778 – 1868. Per la prima volta in Italia potremmo ammirare le opere di questo grande paesaggista dell’Ottocento, spesso dimenticato, che invece ci ha lasciato dei grandi omaggi pittorici riguardanti proprio il nostro Paese. In mostra alla Casa di Goethe a Roma, quattro opere di grande formato raffiguranti paesaggi italiani realizzati tra il 1829 e il 1839 ed altri venti dipinti. Le opere sono solitamente conservate nella Neue Galerie della Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel, per volontà della contessa Louise Bose, figlia del Principe elettore Wilhelm II. Non perdete questa interessante mostra alla Casa di Goethe di Roma, per scoprire o ricordare Johann Martin von Rohden, un artista tedesco che ha sposato un’italiana e grazie a lei ha amato tutta l’Italia.

Descrizione: La mostra raccoglie più di un centinaio di manifesti pubblicitari che, tra il 1920 e il 1940, divennero uno tra i più stimolanti campi di ricerca e di sperimentazione, non solo dell’innovativa ricerca grafica italiana ma anche dei più grandi artisti del Novecento, da Adolfo Wild a Duilio Cambellotti, dai futuristi Balla, Depero e Prampolini a Mario Sironi e a Lucio Fontana.
